In August 2024, Bandai Namco announced that it was shutting down service for Blue Protocol, its anime action MMO that had been playable in Japan since 2023. Players grieved, and in January, they partook in a virtual farewell.
Surprisingly, a press release has emerged announcing Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, which is set to launch later this year. The new game, conceived by Chinese developer Shanghai Bokura Network, builds upon the initial concept, offering fresh gameplay elements while retaining the essence of its predecessor.
Game Features
- Classes: The game will comprise various classes, including fighters like Shields and Heavy Guardians, alongside damage-dealing roles like Frost Mages and Stormblades, plus a healer class called Verdanct Oracle.
- Gameplay Style: Expect a mix of fast-paced action and relaxed gathering mechanics.
Although the monetization strategy raises concerns regarding in-game purchases, the game is already familiar to many through beta testing in China. Blue Protocol: Star Resonance aims to launch sometime this year, reigniting interest in the anime MMO genre.
