VPN Company Ends Lifetime Subscriptions Without Warning

VPNSecure recently cancelled its lifetime subscriptions, claiming it wasn't aware these plans existed, leading to discontent among users.

When a service offers a lifetime subscription, many customers wonder what that actually entails. The VPN provider VPNSecure has recently disappointed many users by cancelling all lifetime subscriptions, claiming they were unaware of these plans. This has raised concerns among current subscribers regarding the legitimacy of lifetime offers.

In a message shared by unsatisfied customers on Reddit, VPNSecure cited that its new ownership had no prior knowledge of the thousands of lifetime deals it had sold, admitting they hadn’t bought any related contracts during their acquisition of the company.

“Unfortunately, the previous owner did not disclose that thousands of Lifetime Deals (LTDs) had been sold through platforms like StackSocial,” the email explains.

“We discovered this only months later—when a large portion of our resources were strained by these LTD accounts and high support volume from users, who provided no sustainable income to help us improve and maintain the service.”

This abrupt termination of services should serve as a cautionary tale about the realities of lifetime membership deals, especially for services that are inherently non-tangible like VPNs. If a deal appears too good to be true, it often is.
