While I’ve personally found my interest waning past 240 Hz when it comes to gaming monitors—having moved on from competitive FPS games—this new model certainly turns heads for those who chase every millisecond of performance.
Not only is it the first of its kind, but the Odyssey OLED G6 also delivers 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, which offers a smoother gaming experience compared to traditional 1080p LCDs. Additionally, it boasts a full-screen brightness of 300 nits, a notable improvement over its predecessors, possibly utilizing Samsung’s latest QD-OLED tech as highlighted during CES.
With an HDR rating now set at HD500 True Black, this monitor promises stunning visuals combined with an incredible 0.03 ms response time—an appealing combination for fervent gamers seeking clarity and responsiveness.
However, this cutting-edge technology comes at a steep price. Listed at approximately $1,488, it raises the question of value, especially when you could purchase a pair of sizable 32-inch 4K monitors for similar or lower costs while gaining a more immersive experience.
In essence, for serious gamers focused on speed, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 presents an enticing yet expensive option.
