Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - A Unique RPG Adventure Arrives Soon
Excitement is building for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the debut RPG from Montpelier studio Sandfall Interactive, set to launch this April.
The game, initially unveiled in June 2024, presents a turn-based RPG set in an alternative 19th-century Belle Époque France, where a mysterious entity known as the Paintress controls fate by determining the number of years each person has left to live.
Plot Overview
In a bid to counteract her dark influences, the player will lead Expedition 33, a group tasked with confronting the Paintress before further destruction occurs. Players will utilize a unique combat system that blends real-time actions with traditional turn-based mechanics.
Characters to Meet
Among the unique personalities in your party are Monoco, described as a friendly yet aggressive puppet philosopher, and Esquie, a delightful balloon golem characterized as one of the oldest and most powerful beings in the game’s lore.
I am captivated by the game’s distinct visual style and imaginative world-building, which features bizarre and otherworldly elements infused throughout its landscapes. Players can expect creative combat and a diverse roster of allies to assist in their quest.
