Mortal Sin, the visually captivating first-person action-roguelike, has launched an unexpected update featuring a significant graphical enhancement. This update brings with it two art styles: the original aesthetic and a newly revitalized version. Players can effortlessly toggle between both styles at their convenience.
The new visuals encapsulate a heavy metal album’s artwork coupled with features from sword and sandals graphic novels, evoking a vibe reminiscent of an avant-garde adaptation of Conan the Barbarian. The prior visual style was marked by its starkness, relying on a limited color palette that highlighted bright reds, deep blues, and various shades of gray and black.
Mortal Sin Premieres Enhanced Visuals
The newly implemented graphics maintain the gritty essence and bold line work while vastly enriching the color spectrum. This “Realistic Visuals Update” remains true to the spirit of Mortal Sin, nearly transforming the game into an entirely new experience.
For those curious about the transformation, the developer, Nikola Todorovic, reassures fans that the original art style remains intact, allowing players to switch back through the graphics menu.
Since the launch of its early access in 2023, Mortal Sin has flourished, boasting an “Overwhelmingly Positive” user score on Steam, backed by over 3,000 reviews. Currently, it is available at a fair price of $20.
