GTA 6's Second Trailer Sets a New Record for Video Launches

Rockstar announces that the second trailer for GTA 6 has become the most-watched video launch ever.

The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI has shattered records, now being touted as the biggest video launch of all time, amassing over 475 million views shortly after its release.

This comes after Rockstar broke the news of a significant delay for the game. The trailer, unveiled earlier this week, is a showcase of what appears to be unprecedented ambition and detail. The wildlife featured within the trailer is drawing attention, with GTA 6 promising an engaging environment filled with various characters and elements.

Notably, the YouTube version alone has nearly 95 million views. This latest record outmatches the first trailer’s views from 2023, which reached 93 million during the equivalent time frame, although that trailer was exclusively on YouTube.

According to Rockstar, the trailer isn’t merely about numbers; it is a testament to the hype surrounding GTA 6. With the main song of the trailer being ‘Hot Together’ by The Pointer Sisters, streams of this track saw an astronomical rise of 182,000% following the trailer’s release.

GTA cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else,” commented Spotify’s Sulinna Ong. “Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s gratifying to see both new and long-time fans connecting with such a classic track.”

Grand Theft Auto VI is now slated for release on May 26, 2026, although speculation surrounds the timing for its PC launch, with some estimating it could be as late as 2027 or 2028.
