Complexity Brings in Junior and adreN for Austin Major Amid Visa Woes for hallzerk
The Texas-based esports organization is navigating challenges as their Norwegian player struggles to secure a visa.
The Texas-based organization had to prepare for the worst amidst the Norwegian’s struggle to obtain a visa.
Complexity has brought in Eric “adreN” Hoag as coach and former Nouns AWPer Paytyn “junior” Johnson until the end of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, likely to replace Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli due to the latter’s prolonged visa issues.
Previously, hallzerk had missed IEM Dallas 2023 and has had consistent difficulties entering the United States. The organization is working to secure a P1 visa.
General Manager Graham “messioso” Pitt announced the situation during a recent livestream, stating:
“hallzerk’s P1 visa is still in processing. His visa has been accepted, but he requires additional paperwork that has been held up, and we have no way of expediting this at all.”
messioso continued explaining the timeline of the visa application, emphasizing their efforts and delays due to their busy travel schedule at the end of the previous year.
Hallzerk’s likely absence is a severe blow to a Complexity that has shown resilience despite having lost their star player Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski earlier this year.
As it stands, Complexity will head into the upcoming Major looking like this:
- JT (Johnny Theodosiou)
- Grim (Michael Wince)
- Cxzi (Danny Strzelczyk)
- nicx (Nick Lee)
- junior (Paytyn Johnson)
- adreN (Eric Hoag) (coach)
The challenges Complexity faces serve as a reminder of the complex nature of visa-related issues in esports today.
