EA Confident About Battlefield's Next Release Amid Major Playtesting
Electronic Arts expresses optimism for the next installment in the Battlefield franchise, highlighting extensive player testing and feedback.
Following the mixed reception of Battlefield 2042, Electronic Arts (EA) is determined to turn things around with the upcoming Battlefield iteration by focusing on community feedback. EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson emphasized that this game will feature “the biggest playtesting initiative in franchise history.”
Wilson revealed during an investor call that a dedicated group of testers has already logged thousands of hours in the game’s early stages. He reassured stakeholders that this title is being built with the fans in mind, stating, “When we get it right, Battlefield is a giant franchise and often the biggest shooter in the year.”
The game, often referred to as Battlefield 6, aims to incorporate public input on various design aspects, from maps to weapon selection. EA has committed to a transparent development process, wanting players to influence decisions that shape the franchise.
Wilson: “We know that when we get it right, Battlefield is a giant franchise and often the biggest shooter in the year.”
As anticipation builds for a summer reveal, EA plans to expand the Battlefield Labs testing program, aiming for broader player involvement and feedback before the official launch. Fans are hopeful that the hard lessons learned from previous installments will lead to a more successful release.
