Support for Counter-Strike has dwindled at the American organization Nouns after their members voted against funding the team for 2025.
RUSH and adreN Leave
William “RUSH” Wierzba and Eric “adreN” Hoag have exited Nouns following the team’s inability to advance in the Major Regional Qualifiers. Dust2.us reported on this transition, which follows the organization’s failure to solidify support after their unsuccessful bids to secure funding for the year.
Nouns operates as a decentralized autonomous organization, where its members purchase membership through unique digital art pieces and participate in voting to finance teams. Two proposals to finance Nouns and its subsidiary through 2025 were turned down, with members unwilling to allocate $199,800 USDC for the annual budget.
Dust2.us also stated that the team has been reliant on temporary support since those votes failed in February. However, the recent absence from the Major appears to have led to the withdrawal of that support and consequently resulted in the departure of two key players.
In-game leader Matthew “Cryptic” Whitmore has indicated that details regarding the team’s future will be revealed on May 3.
The current roster sits at #80 in Valve’s Global Standings, utilizing Khizar “Momo” Rehman as a stand-in for RUSH.
