Nintendo Shares Key Features of the New Switch 2 Dock

A detailed revelation about the cooling mechanisms of the Nintendo Switch 2 Dock has been shared via the Nintendo Today app.

Nintendo confirmed through the Nintendo Today app that the Switch 2 Dock fan will function based on the Dock’s internal temperature rather than just the console’s. The Dock will have two USB ports on the front and a USB-C port at the back for power. An updated HDMI port at the back supports up to 4K 60 Hz resolution. Furthermore, the inclusion of an Ethernet port replaces a third USB port, providing a direct wired internet connection.

Summary

  • The Dock fan will adjust based on temperatures within the Dock.
  • Two USB ports at the front and one USB-C port at the back for power.
  • The HDMI port allows 4K game display.
  • An Ethernet port is included for direct internet access.

Nintendo has also shared a video showcasing the Dock from various perspectives, explaining its setup process. The Switch 2 Dock takes advantage of new technologies compared to the original Switch Dock, which won’t be compatible.
