Intel's Latest Drivers Boost Performance for Low-Power Gaming Devices

Recent updates to Intel's drivers provide enhanced gaming performance for handhelds and laptops, leading to significant frame rate improvements.

Intel has recently announced improvements in gaming performance through driver updates, providing additional boosts for its low-power chips. This upgrade is particularly beneficial for PC gamers who utilize high-end handheld devices like the MSI Claw AI+ and laptops with Intel Core Ultra components, enhancing their gaming experience without requiring complex adjustments.

Intel stated, “As part of our continuous platform optimizations, we are rolling out a power management update that improves gaming performance for Intel Core Ultra 200V systems (codenamed: Lunar Lake) with built-in Intel Arc 140V and 130V GPUs.”

Performance Gains

This update promises an average frame rate increase of 10% and a notable 25% improvement for the lowest 1% of frame rates, ensuring smoother gameplay. Specifically, it is designed for use under standard power levels, making it accessible without extensive system modifications.

Compatibility

Currently, this update is officially supported on the MSI Claw 7/8 AI+ devices. Users may already have it installed if they allow automatic updates. For those who don’t, it can be manually updated via the MSI Center or directly from Intel’s website. The broader rollout to other Intel Core Ultra 200V systems is anticipated soon.
