Recent rumors indicate that Xbox is investing significantly in cloud gaming technology, leading to the development of three new controller prototypes. Jez Corden, from Windows Central, has shared insights on a podcast concerning these innovative designs.
The first prototype is aimed at providing a basic, cost-effective option comparable to the standard controller currently in use. Corden suggests that it will incorporate some next-gen features but refrained from detailing the specifics.
The two other prototypes include a mid-range option codenamed Sebile, previously leaked in 2023, and a premium model expected to be the Xbox Elite Series 3. Notably, two out of the three upcoming controllers are anticipated to support direct Wi-Fi connections for enhanced cloud gaming experiences, potentially reducing latency significantly.
This new development reflects Xbox’s commitment to enhance gaming experiences across devices, enabling users to engage seamlessly in cloud gaming without reliance on traditional Bluetooth connections. Corden also pointed out that while it’s still early, further details may emerge as production progresses.
