Media: Astralis Considering Sale of Organization and CS Division

There are reports indicating that Astralis is exploring a potential sale of its brand and Counter-Strike division amid financial difficulties.

Jonas Gundersen, previously the Chief Operating Officer for Ninjas in Pyjamas, is reportedly interested in acquiring Astralis, which has been facing significant financial challenges.

A report by Dust2.dk suggests that Astralis is on the brink of bankruptcy, and insider Alexey “OverDrive” Birukov mentioned on Telegram that the organization might be sold or shut down.

Furthermore, HLTV has confirmed that Astralis is looking for potential buyers for its brand and intellectual property rights, as well as its CS division. The potential sale price is speculated to be between 13-20 million DKK ($2-3 million USD).

The news follows the organization’s failure to qualify for its fifth consecutive Major, leading to a loss of revenue, primarily from sticker sales, for over three years. Reports indicate that missing these opportunities could have cost Astralis between $3-4 million.

Astralis has recently made changes to its team, bringing in Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen to replace Casper “cadiaN” Møller and is set to compete in PGL Astana from May 10-18.
