Intel's Aging Raptor Lake CPUs Continue to Sell Well Due to Affordability

Despite being released over two years ago, Intel's Raptor Lake CPUs remain popular in the market, largely thanks to their low prices.

Despite the Raptor Lake CPUs being over two years old and having some reliability issues, sales remain robust according to Intel. This observation was made during their recent earnings call for investors.

Raptor Lake represents Intel’s 13th and 14th generation CPUs aimed at both mobile and desktop markets. Michelle Johnston Holdhaus, the CEO of Intel Products, attributed their continuing popularity to affordability. She stated:

“We’re not pushing the old parts based on margins. What we’re really seeing is much greater demand from our customers for N minus one and N minus two products, so that they can continue to meet system price points that consumers are really demanding. The macroeconomic concerns have everybody hedging their bets about inventory needs, and Raptor Lake is a great option.”
