Baldur's Gate 3 Director Endorses Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Michael Douse, the publishing director for Baldur's Gate 3, commends Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, encouraging support for the RPG and its talented cast.

Michael Douse, the publishing director for Baldur’s Gate 3, recently expressed his admiration for the newly launched RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, urging players to support the game and its development team. Douse lauded that the game had received positive feedback from fans and critics.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 presents a blend of turn-based and real-time gameplay elements. Created by Sandfall Interactive, the title was unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2024 and has since generated substantial anticipation. Just two months after its January 2025 collector’s edition sold out, Clair Obscur was officially released on April 24 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, quickly garnering rave reviews across the board.

Douse highlighted the game’s cast, which includes Baldur’s Gate 3 stars, and pointed out that the game’s success is attributed to the small yet dedicated team behind it. In a passionate social media post, he remarked, “This game was crafted by a team of just 30 members, which is impressive given its quality.” He also encouraged fans to purchase the game rather than play it via Xbox Game Pass, as this would offer more support to the developers.

Overall, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is emerging as one of the year’s standout titles, but only time will tell if it can maintain its momentum.
