Cloud Strife’s English voice actor, Cody Christian, has indicated that the voice recording for Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s upcoming sequel might already be in progress.
The modern adaptation of Final Fantasy 7 has so far been released in multiple installments, with last year’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth depicting the party’s journey beyond Midgar and concluding soon after the pivotal encounter at the Temple of the Ancients. Expectations for the third installment are high, as it aims to cover the remainder of the original storyline, which many fans consider to be among the series’ finest.
While there is no official announcement about when the third installment will be available for players, development team members have hinted that progress is moving smoothly. Last year, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the next installment’s story has been finalized since June 2022, with pre-production work underway. Hamaguchi expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development and noted no major delays have occurred.
Cody Christian recently shared a now-deleted Instagram post, where he was seen in a recording booth, captioned “so happy to be back with my bestie,” alongside a small graphic featuring Cloud. This led many fans to speculate that he might be recording for the third Final Fantasy 7 Remake game or a project involving Cloud.
