Marvel Comics is making a nostalgic return with the revival of the Marvel Swimsuit Special. Set for release in July, the new issue will feature designs for characters’ costumes intended for the multiplayer game Marvel Rivals. The original Swimsuit Specials were known for appealing to teenage audiences in the 1990s and this new edition aims to capture that playful spirit in today’s context.

While the past editions typically centered around characters in provocative attire, the revival will include a narrative thread by writers Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs, illustrated by the talented Nick Bradshaw. The story will focus on Earth’s Mightiest fashion designer, Janet Van Dyne, also known as the Wasp.
