Tempest Rising's Early Launch on Steam Surprises Everyone

The base-building RTS 'Tempest Rising' was released a week ahead of schedule on Steam, leading to changes in its release date and complications for pre-order customers.

Tempest Rising, a real-time strategy game centered around base-building, launched on Steam a full week earlier than planned. The publisher has now adjusted the release date to April 17 instead of the originally set April 24.

“While the team worked quickly to address the issue, the most seamless solution ended up being to release the game to everyone,” said an update on Steam.

This surprise launch allowed everyone access to the game, which was initially slated for selective early access for those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition. This oversight meant that some players lost the expected exclusivity and early gameplay hours associated with their purchase.

Currently, Tempest Rising enjoys a very positive rating from users on Steam, reflecting player satisfaction despite the launch hiccup. The developer is now looking into creating new in-game content specifically for Deluxe Edition owners to compensate for their lost early access privileges.
