The Florida Attorney General’s office has issued a subpoena to the Roblox Corporation, addressing concerns about the platform’s content and its potential risk to children. This action is part of ongoing scrutiny surrounding Roblox’s child safety practices.
As Roblox approaches its upcoming 20th anniversary in 2026, it continues to attract a massive user base with over 85 million daily active users and 380 million monthly active users as of early 2025. However, this popularity has led to increasing criticism regarding its safety measures, which some analysts label as insufficient.
The subpoena, issued on April 16, demands that Roblox provide information regarding how the company markets content to children, moderates user interactions, and enforces age verification, among other requests. Uthmeier highlighted reports suggesting that the platform could expose minors to harmful content and interactions.
Roblox has a 30-day deadline to respond to this request, with the Florida AG seeking detailed statistics on user playtime segmented by age, as well as documentation about the company’s marketing and safety policies.
