Last Epoch Surges to 150,000 Players Amid Path of Exile 2's Fallout

As Path of Exile 2 faces backlash over recent updates, Last Epoch sees a significant rise in player numbers.

The recent update 0.2.0 for Path of Exile 2 has not been received well, leading to a reduction in player count. Many players who enjoy action RPGs for their fast-paced monster-fighting action are unhappy with the changes. Consequently, Last Epoch, developed by Eleventh Hour Games, has seen a boost to over 150,000 players soon after announcing a delay in its own Season 2 update.

The game director, Judd “Moxx” Cobbler, stated on the Last Epoch forum that they adjusted their release strategy to avoid competing with other titles unveiling updates concurrently, ensuring a better launch for Tombs of the Erased, their new season.

Recently, as mentioned by Russell Adderson, players have divided over updates that change the core experience of the game; players are returning to experience the enhancements in Last Epoch. As reported by SteamDB, the player count went up significantly.

With over 100 pages of patch notes, Tombs of the Erased includes a complete overhaul of the sentinel class and introduces new skills, crafting modes, and side zones, enriching the gameplay experience. Players have already started celebrating the update, leading to further criticism of Path of Exile 2 in social media discussions.
