Skyblivion Project Lead Expresses Support for Official Oblivion Remaster

The lead of the fan project Skyblivion extends goodwill towards the developers of the official Oblivion remaster amid recent announcements.

The anticipated remaster of Bethesda’s Oblivion has nearly been confirmed following leaks from developer Virtuous Games, displaying screenshots and box art. This announcement, however, does not seem to dampen the spirit of the Skyblivion project, a fan-made recreation of Oblivion using the Skyrim engine. Project lead Rebelzize commented on social media that the remaster “changes nothing.”

“To be clear this changes nothing for me,” Rebelzize stated on X.
“This always was a passion project and still is until the end. It is a win-win for the community, as you will experience twice the content of Oblivion this year. There is all love and no hate towards the developers behind the official remaster.”
In recent discussions, Rebelzize shared that he feels more connected to the community through this project than he ever expected, building relationships and gaining invaluable experience that propelled him into the gaming industry.
Skyblivion aims for a release sometime in 2025, while the official remaster could be released imminently. Rebelzize remains optimistic and wishes the best for both projects:
“I hope you will enjoy either the official or our remake. Thank you for your support, and always be kind to one another.”
