In the recently released Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a new hardcore mode has been introduced, presenting a much more severe challenge to players. This mode disables many of the game’s conveniences, including:
- No map location displayed
- Fast travel is disabled
- No visual cues for combat
The hardcore mode significantly alters the way players navigate the game’s beautiful yet unforgiving world, requiring them to seek directions from NPCs. According to the patch notes, “Hardcore mode is here, and it’s not for the faint of heart.”
Players are also encouraged to select permanent negative perks at the start of the game, influencing their gameplay experience further. For example, the Heavy-Footed perk makes players noisier, while Sweaty increases their pungency.
Karel Kolmann, a senior designer at Warhorse Studios, explains: “We’ve gone further this time, adding immersive elements like the ability to ask NPCs for directions.”
The hardcore mode not only raises the difficulty level but also aims to enhance realism, making it a tempting choice for seasoned players seeking an authentic medieval adventure.
