Capcom is currently revising the recommended hardware specifications for Monster Hunter Wilds as the game has undergone significant performance improvements since the initial beta tests.
Capcom had previously raised some eyebrows by announcing that players should aim for a GPU capable of 60 fps at 1080p on medium settings—mainly with frame generation enabled. However, improvements in performance during the game’s development are leading to a reassessment of these demands.
Recently, the Monster Hunter team’s German-language account on X shared a gameplay video depicting the performance enhancements implemented on a PS5. Capcom stated:
“PC Gamers: Performance will be improved in a similar manner, and we are investigating lowering the recommended GPU requirements.”
(Translation: “PC Gamers: Performance will be improved in a similar way, and we are looking into whether we can lower the recommended GPU requirements.”)
Although initial indications suggested a standalone hardware benchmark tool would be released, there was a clarification from Capcom stating they are still considering this feature but cannot confirm it at present.
Reassurances from Capcom about performance improvements align with their previous statements suggesting that the game’s state has shifted positively since November. As players experienced various optimization issues during the beta, Capcom reinforced that the final version would offer a more polished experience.
Future Expectations
Despite the growing optimism, players will still rely on the initial beta specs for testing as they embark on upcoming beta tests in February, which will utilize the early development builds that do not reflect the improvements achieved.
In summary, all Monster Hunter fans should anticipate a better gaming experience in the upcoming full release.
