Dune: Awakening Launch Pushed Back with Upcoming Beta Weekend
Funcom has delayed the release of the survival MMO Dune: Awakening, now slated for June 10, while announcing a beta weekend for players.
Just under six weeks prior to its originally scheduled launch on May 20, Dune: Awakening has been pushed back three weeks, now set for June 10.
Funcom explained, “Dune: Awakening is an ambitious game. We are committed to delivering an unprecedented multiplayer survival experience, and wish to ensure we meet the expectations of our players.”
This delay arrives amid an ongoing closed beta phase, which the developers describe as providing “invaluable” feedback that influenced the decision to take additional time.
The postponement shifts the five-day “head start” for deluxe and ultimate editions, which will now begin on June 5. However, there’s positive news—a large-scale beta weekend will occur sometime in May, allowing more players to experience the game before the official release. Further information will be released soon.
In addition, Funcom is scheduled to host a livestream today showcasing the game’s combat, starting at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET on YouTube.
