Nvidia States There's Little They Can Do Regarding Tariffs on RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti GPUs

Nvidia has voiced concerns over the impact of tariff changes on the pricing of its new RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti graphics cards as uncertainties loom.

The launch of Nvidia’s RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards typically should be met with excitement, especially within the budget segment aimed at mass users.

However, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over their availability at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). This situation worsens with current discussions over potential tariffs by the Trump administration.

Nvidia specified that the MSRPs for these new graphics cards do not include regional VAT or any possible tariffs, effectively distancing themselves from price fluctuations stemming from these tariffs.

Justin Walker, Nvidia’s GeForce Product Manager, acknowledged the limitations by stating, “There’s not a whole lot we can do about tariffs.” He added, however, that Nvidia is collaborating with partners to maintain keep prices reasonable.

While consumers hope for fair prices as the cards roll out starting at $299 for the RTX 5060 and $379 for the RTX 5060 Ti (with a higher configuration available for $429), the recent market trends suggest a different outlook. Many users are finding it challenging to purchase these or similar graphics cards at MSRP due to ongoing supply chain issues.

Given the fluctuating nature of tariffs and their implications, Nvidia’s candor is refreshing yet brings a sting of reality. In an era where GPU pricing remains volatile, users remain cautious about potential price increases and their implications on future purchases.
