After over a decade of dedicated gameplay, I put my Destiny 2 experience behind me. Gathering a multitude of weapons and completing numerous quests reached its climax with the Final Shape expansion. However, if I had known the Scorgan was arriving, I might have reconsidered.
Though the Light and Darkness saga has concluded, Destiny 2 continues to evolve with episodic updates. The latest, Revolver, brings back the Scorn baron Fikrul, recruiting players to combat his undead forces. Bungie has introduced an exotic mission where players can invade Fikrul’s spooky stronghold for a chance at the Slayer’s Fang shotgun, capable of firing void rounds.
The highlight of this encounter is undeniably the Scorgan—a vast, eerie organ powered by dark ether and alien machinery, far surpassing your typical gothic instrument. By pressing the keys in specific combinations, players can unlock secret paths and hasten concealed boss fights. Gamers on the Destiny subreddit have showcased the Scorgan’s potential with incredibly creative remixes.
For instance, players have produced astonishing renditions of songs like Coldplay’s “Clocks”. Underneath the dark undertones of the Revenant episode lies a treasure trove of players reimagining popular tunes into eerie gameplay music. From simple renditions mimicking the Halo theme to artistic mashups producing twisted versions of “Megalovania”, the creativity is boundless.
One personal favorite of mine is a reworked version of the theme from Studio Ghibli’s “Ponyo,” transforming it from a sweet melody into a haunting symphony—an ambitious feat deserving of applause. Even as someone who hasn’t played in weeks, it’s heartening to see Destiny 2 continuing to inspire joy among its community. My time with the game may be over, but I trust the Scorgan will usher in an exciting new chapter.
