A Marvel Rivals Player Achieves Grandmaster Rank with Zero Damage Strategy

A unique Marvel Rivals player named Habooskie manages to reach the Grandmaster tier without dealing any damage, showcasing a healing strategy.

We are not yet halfway through Marvel Rivals Season 1, and a player has already completed a challenge to reach Grandmaster without inflicting any damage. This player, known as Habooskie, managed to focus purely on healing while using the Strategist Rocket Raccoon, achieving a staggering amount of healing despite not securing kills.

“I hit Grandmaster doing zero damage,” shared Marvel Rivals player Habooskie, who is also recognized by the name NoDmgRocket. They displayed their impressive stats: after 18.6 hours of playtime with Rocket Raccoon, they achieved 2.9 million healing and a 65% win rate. It appears that a pacifist approach can indeed pay off in the heat of battle.

Many in the community debate the essence of support roles. For some, it’s about maximizing healing output in matches, while others believe that support can mean contributing through crowd control or dealing damage.

As matches ascend into higher ranks, being solely a healer presents challenges due to better-coordinated enemies. Players must adapt by learning defensive and offensive strategies, such as utilizing crowd control to support their team effectively.

“I still need to shoot ankhs, Loki clones, and enemy Rocket beacons,” noted NoDmgRocket while discussing the importance of participating in combat even as a healer. Meanwhile, Habooskie’s unconventional method sparked discussions about the value of keeping teammates alive over traditional offensive playstyles.

Overall, this trend of pacifism in competitive games is intriguing, paralleling various instances where gamers achieve high ranks or accomplishments without resorting to conventional combat methods.
