The upcoming Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to launch on April 15. Anticipating an extensive gaming session, many players, like myself, will be focused on game mechanics for a while, potentially impacting our social interactions.
Swen Vincke, the head honcho at Larian Studios, humorously noted, “I just read the 48 pages of patch notes on this. If there were a Michelin guide to patches, I’d give this one 3 stars.” This extensive documentation signifies a robust update.
Although the 48 pages of notes seem daunting, they are not structured by actual pages on the Larian website. Given previous statistics, an estimate suggests the notes might contain 19,000 to 20,000 words, a conservative figure based on earlier patch communications.
For context, past patches have varied widely in length:
- Patch 1: 16,542 words
- Patch 3: 23,576 words
- Patch 7: 18,153 words
Overall, this could make Patch 8 the second largest update the game has ever received. 12 new subclasses are among the new features, which naturally require detailed explanations.
Look out for more updates as we get closer to the patch’s release!
