The star AWPer, m0NESY, has officially transitioned to Falcons as announced by Alban Dechelotte, the CEO of G2.
The news solidifies m0NESY’s new journey as he is set to debut with Falcons during the IEM Melbourne tournament beginning on April 21.
“Rumors are true. We have decided to accept the trade for our rising star of CS,” said Alban in a statement.
Translation: “Rumours are true. We have decided to accept the transfer of our young star of CS.”
The decision comes as m0NESY’s contract with G2 ends in December, leading to speculation of a transfer given his past connection with Falcons, notably when a deal almost materialized last winter.
The Russian player has been pivotal for G2 during recent tournaments, and his departure follows the team’s defeat against Falcons in the PGL Bucharest grand final—a match noted for showcasing his impressive skills as a temporary replacement.
“It became clear that m0NESY was increasingly distanced from the team amid the ongoing uncertainty about his future,” Alban noted.
With m0NESY’s departure, G2 plans to fill the gap with a loan signing of Olek ‘hades’ Miskiewicz from Monte as the roster undergoes changes in preparation for upcoming competitions.
