John Romero's Latest Work Sigil 2 Joins Doom Remaster

Sigil 2, the new episode for Doom, is now officially included in Bethesda's remaster of Doom and Doom 2, marking a significant addition to the franchise.

Bethesda and Nightdive Studios’ remaster of Doom + Doom 2 is more than just a graphical enhancement; it has integrated every classic adventure under one roof. While this remaster includes base games, master levels for Doom II, and previous expansions like the new challenging campaign, the highly anticipated Sigil 2 was initially missing.

Crafted by the legendary John Romero, Sigil 2 serves as Doom’s sixth episode, offering nine new levels following the original game’s storyline. Initially, Sigil 2 was available only as a mod but has now gained official status following a recent update from Bethesda that resolved its absence.

According to reactions, the inclusion of Sigil 2 signals its acknowledgment in the Doom legacy. Romero has indicated that both Sigil episodes complement each other through their shared design focuses, challenging even the most seasoned players with ever-increasing difficulties.
