Days Gone’s New Horde Mode Promises Endless Challenges and Explosions

The highly anticipated horde assault mode is set to transform Days Gone into an exhilarating survival roguelite experience. This mode, which will be part of the Broken Road DLC releasing in the coming weeks, focuses on combat without the usual narrative, allowing players to engage in intense 30-minute battles.

When players enter this mode, they will choose characters like Deacon or a selection of new avatars and must navigate through initial hordes just to reach their bikes. Armed with new weapons, including a flamethrower, players will need to survive against larger enemy waves. If they last for half an hour, they’ll face even more formidable challenges, as an ‘unlimited horde’ is unleashed upon them.

Additionally, the mode features a new leveling system, rewarding players with unique game modifiers called injectors, enhancing the gameplay experience and difficulty. The Broken Road DLC will also introduce other gameplay options like a permadeath mode and speedrun challenges, but the horde assault is the primary attraction.
