Intel's New Overclocking Feature Hits Chinese Market
Intel's warranty-backed IPO overclocking feature, which promises significant improvements in performance, is now available on pre-built PCs in China.
Intel has rolled out its new warranty-backed overclocking feature, termed IPO (Intel Performance Optimization), which aims to simplify CPU tuning for enhanced performance. Markedly, the feature is launched exclusively for pre-built PCs in China at this moment.
IPO is believed to facilitate the overclocking of numerous CPU components, specifically focusing on exclusive profiles that can adjust frequencies, timings, and power limits while ensuring server stability. It allows for safer, easier overclocking, promising boosts in performance without the typical risks of manual adjustments.
For instance, Intel’s Core Ultra 7 265K can achieve a frequency of 5.4 GHz on performance cores, compared to its base of 5.2 GHz, while the E-core frequency rises to 4.9 GHz from 4.6 GHz, and the DDR5 memory sees an increase from 8,000 MT/s to 8,400 MT/s.
Despite current availability being limited to the Chinese market, there are expectations this innovative tech might migrate globally due to its potential for performance enhancement, claimed to boost in-game frame rates by 10% compared to standard settings. This development is keenly watched, as it could reshape the overclocking landscape similar to the likes of AMD’s popular CPUs.
