Today at the Triple-I Initiative, Fakefish, the developer behind Barotrauma, has unveiled their upcoming co-op survival title, Frostrail. This new game shifts the action from an underwater environment to a dieselpunk FPS where players will control a train instead of a submarine.
In Frostrail, gamers will navigate a harsh post-apocalyptic landscape, endure extreme cold, and combat terrifying creatures while upgrading their steam-powered locomotive using the state-of-the-art Eden Engine.
Key Features
- Co-op Gameplay: Work with friends to scavenge resources.
- Upgrade your Train: Enhance your train with crafting stations, improving your capabilities.
Aku Jauhiainen, the company’s founder, stated, “As players explore, they can enhance their train with new features, rewarding them with better resource management and speed.”
Players will face challenges, including hostile entities called Revenants, and must make quick decisions to maintain warmth and efficiency on their journey. Frostrail is set to be released in 2026.
