New Pokémon from Gen 8 Arriving in Pokémon GO's April Event

Pokémon GO is gearing up for the Sweet Discoveries event where players can encounter the Applin evolutionary line.

Pokémon GO announced the launch of Applin’s evolutionary line on April 24 with the Sweet Discoveries event. The game continues to add monsters from nine generations, including over 40 critters from Galar.

In November 2019, Pokémon GO added Galarian Wheezing to celebrate the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, followed by the introduction of Sirfetch’d and Ponyta later that same year. With new events on the horizon, players will soon be able to encounter more Galar monsters.

Event Details:

  • Start Date: Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 10 AM
  • End Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 8 PM local time

New Pokémon:

  • Applin, Flapple (evolution), Appletun (evolution)
  • Note: Players will require 200 Applin Candy and specific apples to evolve Applin.

Event bonuses include field research tasks and a special $1.99 Ultra Box loaded with in-game items, along with avatar items such as an Applin headband and apron.

Additionally, players can catch pocket monsters with boosted shiny chances and increased wild encounters during this time.
