During the celebration of its 10th anniversary, The Elder Scrolls Online is implementing a significant update by introducing subclassing. This new feature will allow players to mix and match abilities from different classes, resulting in more versatile character builds.
Typically, characters in The Elder Scrolls Online choose from three predefined skill lines specific to their class. However, with subclassing, players will have the ability to choose skill lines from all classes, provided they meet certain requirements, such as reaching level 50. The initial skill line must still originate from the player’s primary class.
The changes promise to revolutionize the gameplay experience by expanding the game’s original seven classes into an impressive array of over 3,000 variations—allowing for creativity and personalized gameplay unlike ever before.
Rich Lambert, the game director, expressed confidence in the team’s testing, stating that while power levels may rise, they are comfortable with the current game balance. This ambitious alteration aims to enhance player freedom and reflects the longstanding tradition of customization in The Elder Scrolls franchise.
Mark your calendars, as these changes, alongside additional seasonal updates, are slated to launch in June.
