A Mysterious Herobrine Moment in A Minecraft Movie
The producer of A Minecraft Movie discusses an unintentional nod to the legendary character Herobrine, claiming its appearance in the film was mere coincidence.
In A Minecraft Movie, there’s an incidental nod to the myth of Herobrine when character Henry encounters an Enderman, prompting eerie visions of Steve (voiced by Jack Black) with glowing white eyes due to a rendering glitch. Producer Torfi Frans Olafsson assured that this was unintended and stressed that all characters were meant to have purple eyes.
Olafsson states:
“It’s super strange that all of their eyes were supposed to be purple, but when it was rendered one of the characters’ eyes kept coming out white in the final rendered frames so we wound up keeping it like that, because the VFX studio ran out of time.”
Previously, nobly rumored, Herobrine is regarded as a ghost within the game, adding a layer of folklore, evidenced by countless creepypasta accounts. The unplanned resurgence of this character’s presence in film draws both curiosity and skepticism, as fans await potential sequels.
