'Redstone expert' Mumbo Jumbo was initially tasked with crafting 'a variety of wild booby traps' for *A Minecraft Movie*, which were ultimately omitted from the final cut
The director discusses how numerous entertaining scenes featuring Minecraft YouTuber Mumbo Jumbo were removed during production.
In the realm of A Minecraft Movie, several intriguing references to Minecraft culture illuminate the film. Among these are homages to both Technoblade and shoutouts to DanTDM. However, it appears numerous cameos were eliminated, including a scene featuring Viking War for a Viking film and multiple creations designed by popular YouTuber Mumbo Jumbo.
“Yes, there were a multitude of amusing sequences we had planned,” stated director Jared Hess in a dialogue with TechRadar. “Mumbo Jumbo, known for his expertise in redstone, had conceptualized an outstanding scene that ultimately could not be executed.”
Despite this setback, the crew endeavored to assure that all present builds functioned precisely as they should in the game. “Every element we crafted for the film was designed with the thought that they could be replicated in-game,” Hess elaborated. “From building structures like Steve’s Lava Chicken Shack, we constantly checked their feasibility within the game.”
