Directors of Dishonored Reflect on Future Possibilities
Raphaël Colantonio, a prominent figure in the game industry and co-founder of Arkane Studios, expressed his interest in potentially working on Dishonored 3. He noted that while he could envision himself collaborating on the project, he believes the chances of it coming to fruition are currently unlikely.
“I had a document about Dishonored 3,” Colantonio shared, but explained that although options exist, their realization feels more like ‘science fiction’ at the moment.
Colantonio and colleagues, including Harvey Smith and Dinga Bakaba, have various concept documents related to the project, indicating a shared interest within the team to explore new ideas in the Dishonored universe.
Colantonio had previously noted that he prefers to create entirely new games, reflecting on his time directing Dishonored 2 and his work on Prey. “After Dishonored 1, the last thing I wanted to do for the next four years was Dishonored 2,” he stated, emphasizing the natural progression to new titles.
Despite the challenges, Colantonio remains optimistic and acknowledges a sense of nostalgia towards returning to the Dishonored series. Watch the full interview on the Quad Damage podcast, where he elaborates on his journey and the future of game development at WolfEye Studios.
