Jack Black Claims 'A Minecraft Movie' is What We Need: 'So Much Violence and Hatred'
Jack Black talks about the upcoming 'A Minecraft Movie' and its potential positive impact amidst global negativity.
As the premiere of A Minecraft Movie approaches, actor Jack Black expressed his belief that the film is precisely what the world needs in these turbulent times. More than just a children’s movie, Black, alongside co-star Jason Momoa, thinks it serves a purpose amid widespread violence and hatred.
Black, when questioned about the film, broke into song, referencing Burt Bacharach’s classic, “What the world needs now is love, sweet love.” He emphasized, “There’s so much violence and war and hatred. And that’s what I love about this movie—there’s a lot of love in it and there’s a lot of creativity.”
However, it remains to be seen if a film centered on blocky characters will truly alleviate global issues. Momoa added, “I think everyone needs to escape a little bit right now. It’s nice to sit back and have a really fun adventure and giggle and laugh.”
Despite their enthusiasm, critics question whether a Minecraft-themed adventure can genuinely address the deep-rooted problems facing society today.
