Monster Hunter Wilds Achieves Over 10 Million Sales in Just a Month

Capcom's latest title, Monster Hunter Wilds, has made waves by surpassing sales of 10 million copies in its inaugural month.

Capcom’s newest release, Monster Hunter Wilds, has proved to be a commercial success, shifting over 10 million copies within the first month of launch. This impressive figure highlights its record-breaking performance among Capcom’s offerings.

The title sold around eight million copies in the first three days, establishing it as the fastest-selling game in Capcom’s history. Even as sales began to taper off, the additional two million sales in the following weeks mark a significant achievement.

Monster Hunter Wilds is now closely trailing behind Monster Hunter Rise, which reached 15 million sales in May 2021. Given its current trajectory, many anticipate that Wilds could surpass this milestone before the year concludes.

While it still has a long way to go to reach the 30 million copies reportedly sold by Monster Hunter: World, the rapid sales of Wilds demonstrate its strong start, especially after being the first entry in the series to launch on both consoles and PC simultaneously.

Notably, industry insights suggest that over half of the sales were generated through Steam, with estimates indicating between 4.77 million and 6.46 million copies owned on PC. Despite currently receiving a mixed rating on Steam, concerns mainly stem from performance issues and inadequate optimization.

The success of Monster Hunter Wilds underscores the franchise’s evolution from a niche title to a mainstream favorite, driven by robust sales and a dedicated player base. Following its current success, Capcom has plans to roll out updates, with the first one scheduled for April 4, which will introduce new content and features.
