NAVI’s head coach, Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy, has acknowledged the mental challenges his team is facing as they adapt to a new environment following a successful previous season. While reflecting on their current situation, he stated:
“I think we have a tough period as a team, but at the same time, on some days we can play good CS, some days we can play bad CS.”
Translation: I believe we are experiencing a challenging phase as a squad, but we sometimes perform well and other times poorly in CS.
Despite being named Team of the Year in 2024, NAVI has struggled to clinch trophies this season. B1ad3 emphasized the necessity for the team to remain humble and to modify their expectations:
“It’s important for us now, and something we are working mentally on, to understand that our perception is not the only one.”
As they gear up for upcoming tournaments, including the Major, B1ad3 has expressed that if the team doesn’t reach the quarter-finals, they will need to consider potential changes. This includes evaluating player roles and performance while seeking to enhance team chemistry.
Key Issues to Address:
- Ego and Mentality: B1ad3 notes that egos can grow with more wins, and it’s crucial to remain grounded in reality.
- Adaptability: The need for the team to evolve and resolve issues, hinting at necessary adjustments in roster or strategies.
As NAVI prepares for their next challenges, the coaching staff is focused on solutions to improve performance and ensure they reclaim their spot among the top teams in the landscape of competitive CS.
