Former DreamHack Location Set to Host Open BYOC LAN Event in June

The Glitched Masters aims to revive the LAN experience at a historic venue in Jönköping, Sweden.

Glitched Masters is set to revive Counter-Strike at a historic venue, Jönköping’s Elmia fairgrounds, which previously hosted multiple tournaments, including CS:GO Majors in 2013 and 2014.

The event will run from June 13-16, featuring an open bring-your-own-computer (BYOC) tournament for 40 teams on a first-come basis, with registration opening on April 8.

With a prize pool ranging from 158,500 to 238,500 SEK (approximately $16,000 to $24,000), this tier-two ranking event is certain to draw interest from lower-tier teams looking to earn LAN points necessary for tier-one competitions.

Lyckedal stated: “We created Glitched Masters to bring back what’s been missing since the old days. Massive tournament areas where any team can take the chance and benchmark themselves on LAN versus the best teams in the region.”

This initiative marks a return to the roots that were celebrated at DreamHack festivals for over two decades before the series ceased operations in 2024.
