Marvel Rivals Director Confirms RAM Issue Fix in Upcoming Patch

The director of Marvel Rivals announces that a future patch will address significant memory usage for players with low RAM.

A new feature is expected to assist players with less than 32GB of RAM.

NetEase has acknowledged the substantial memory requirements of Marvel Rivals and is devising a solution. “On PC, we realize that [optimization] is a big problem, especially for the memory consumption,” said Guangyun Chen, the director, in an interview at GDC 2025. “So it may be that in Season 2, we will have an experimental check box in our launcher for players to significantly reduce memory [consumption].”

This adjustment is timely as the game’s memory demands have posed challenges, particularly for those using machines with lower RAM configurations. Despite the game’s reasonable system requirements, players have reported performance issues caused by insufficient RAM.

Chen emphasized that fixing the RAM issue is a priority, but noted it cannot be resolved with a mere patch due to the complexity of the optimization process. The new feature is projected to debut in the upcoming Season 2, beginning mid-April, but no exact timeline is established yet.

“It’s a critical issue, yet implementing a fix will require careful organization and comprehensive testing,” Chen remarked. The development team strives for continual improvements to enhance performance across various PC setups.
