The Neo Gamma humanoid robot, part of 1X Technologies, showcased its capability when it presented Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang with a studded leather jacket. The jacket featured the hardware giant’s logo made from metal studs. This collaboration aims to utilize the robot’s skills not just in fashion but also in home chores.
In a video declaration about their partnership, Eric Jang, the Vice President of AI at 1X Technologies, mentioned, "[We’re both] super determined to bring general purpose humanoid robots into the world. We think that by swapping notes on how to solve autonomy problems on Neo [Gamma], we can dramatically accelerate the timeline for bringing Neo into people’s homes."
Their initial project involved preparing a demonstration for Jensen Huang’s GTC 2025 Keynote, where Neo was put to the test performing domestic tasks, notably loading dishes. Despite the robotic arm’s occasional clumsiness, there’s optimism about its evolving skills. The collaboration allows strategic sharing of data between the two teams, enhancing the AI’s learning process and practical functionality in everyday life.
While the Neo Gamma’s design raises eyebrows with its fashion choices, its potential for real-world applications continues to evolve. Viewed as both an engineering marvel and a true disruption in the tech industry, it signifies a step toward fully autonomous household assistance.
