The first significant update for Greedfall 2 has been released, aiming to address the challenges faced by the game during its early access launch.
The update focuses on enhancing combat mechanics, making them “more dynamic” according to developer Spiders. Players can expect quicker reactions and animations, improved character movement, and better target locking.
“The reactivity and close-quarters combat in real-time have been significantly improved,” Spiders mentioned in a statement. Translation: The real-time combat system has seen major improvements.
This update also introduces a new region called Olima, a new companion, and a ship which acts as a hub for managing parties and crafting items.
Despite these enhancements, the original Greedfall launched in 2019 had much higher player peak counts compared to Greedfall 2, which managed to peak at only 375 players. Whether this update can successfully revitalize player interest remains to be seen.
