The Outlast Trials Features Real-Time Player Surveillance in Latest Update

The new limited-time event for The Outlast Trials gives players a chance to engage with heightened surveillance mechanics in a horror setting.

It’s not paranoia if you’re constantly being monitored. However, this might still be a case of paranoia.

The latest update for The Outlast Trials, named “Under Surveillance”, increases tension between the nefarious Murkoff Corporation and a test subject named Amelia. Having escaped into the complex’s hidden areas, Amelia seems to be trying to disrupt their plans.

The update, focusing on the ongoing Project Breach storyline, introduces a mix of new minimissions characterized by live-fire exercises where players steal and hide drug shipments. Another task involves ‘kidnapping’ a mannequin nicknamed ‘dominatrix’ for interrogation purposes.

Despite some absurdity, the grim atmosphere of the game effectively conveys a haunting environment. The new content also allows players to earn unique cosmetic items while participating in time-sensitive missions aimed at supporting Amelia’s escape from the oppressive surveillance of Murkoff.

Additionally, the event runs until April 22nd, and players can find The Outlast Trials on sale through Epic Games. Check the official patch notes here for further details.
