First Hotfix for Assassin's Creed Shadows Tackles Crashes and Stability

The inaugural hotfix for Assassin's Creed Shadows addresses crashes and stability while making a few minor improvements.

The initial hotfix for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now available. It’s a relief for many to see that the developers have kept the list of fixes surprisingly brief, which suggests a stable launch.

Update 1.0.1 includes the following fixes:

  • Stabilization - Resolved various global issues.
  • [PS5] Fixed a crash issue that occurred when accessing the Photo mode.
  • [PC] Addressed a crash issue when capturing photos in Photo mode.

While the fixes are limited, it’s notable that there have been no major issues reported since launch.

The update is quite substantial in size, reaching over 7 GB for PC players, while only 1.4 GB for PS5 owners and approximately 9 GB on Xbox Series X/S.

Recently, Ubisoft highlighted that Shadows represents the second-largest launch in the history of the franchise, leaving fans eager for future developments. Further insights on sales figures will be anticipated at Ubisoft’s next financial call in May.
