The remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 will be released this summer, and it was revealed that Bam Margera, a notable figure from the Jackass series, was originally left off the list of characters. Reports indicate that as a last-minute effort, Tony Hawk himself made a plea for Margera to be included.
During a recent episode of the skating podcast The Nine Club, hosted by Roger Bagley, it was discussed how Margera’s return came about. According to Bagley, Hawk directly contacted Activision, the game’s publisher, insisting on Margera’s inclusion despite their initial hesitations. Hawk reportedly stated, “No, you’re gonna do it”, which led to Margera being flown back in to be scanned for the game.
Although Activision has yet to comment on this decision, Margera has faced various challenges in recent years, including legal troubles that have complicated his status in the skating community. This comeback not only marks a significant change for the game but also showcases the enduring relationship between these iconic figures in skateboarding culture.
As the game approaches its release date on July 11, speculation abounds regarding its reimagined features, including a shift from the original open-world mechanics to more structured challenges reminiscent of earlier titles.
