Dune: Awakening is only a couple of months away from its launch date, set for May without an early access phase. The game’s creator, Joel Bylos, shared the vision for the launch, emphasizing that there will be no monthly subscription. He stated, “The key things that you need to know about Dune: Awakening’s launch are that it will not launch in early access and it will not have a monthly subscription. It will receive regular free updates, including new content, new features, and quality-of-life improvements.”
This approach aims to provide a complete experience upon release, an approach that is increasingly rare in the gaming industry, particularly for MMOs. Pre-orders for the title will commence soon, with pricing indicated at $49.99, a contrast to the higher prices of many current releases. Additionally, while there will be optional paid DLCs, they will not hinder progress in the game’s main storyline.
