Myst Remake Expands with New Area After Player Requests

The Myst remake introduces a fresh region, drawing from past material, aiming to enrich the classic game's narrative experience.

The revised edition of Myst has added a fresh region called Rime. This Age of Rime update offers players a snowy, mountainous seascape that becomes accessible after finishing the main storyline.

The new lore, narrative arcs, and captivating visuals enhance the classic game’s narrative.

While Rime is entirely new to the remake, it did appear in realMyst, a 2000 release that shifted the game into real-time 3D, making this update nostalgic for long-time fans of the franchise.

Players can explore this bonus realm that enhances the original game’s story, set in a lab focused on the Linking Books. The developers at Cyan Worlds confirmed that community feedback influenced this addition, stating, ‘You’ve been asking, and we’ve been listening.’ Further improvements include updating DLSS support and enhancing visual features.
